Ham & Swiss Baked Penne

- Nonstick cooking spray
- Large saucepan
- Small mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 8 ounces penne pasta, cooked al dente and drained
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups 2% milk
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 6 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 ounces shredded Colby cheese
- 2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 11x7 baking dish and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk and half-and-half. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually stir in Swiss and Colby cheese until melted. Add ham and cooked pasta; toss to coat. Transfer to the prepared pan.
- In a small mixing bowl, mix the topping ingredients. Sprinkle over pasta.
- Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and topping is browned.
