Cheesy Baked Spaghetti

This baked pasta dish is a little bit like spaghetti, a little bit like lasagna, and a whole lot of flavor! Pair it with a salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.   • 11x7-inch rectangular baking dish
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Medium pot
  • Medium skillet

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 cup low-fat Cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

For the Baked Spaghetti

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 11x7-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Cook spaghetti in medium pot according to package directions for al dente. Drain and return to pot, remove from heat.
  • Add butter and salt; stir until butter is melted.
  • Add remaining pasta ingredients and toss to combine.
  • Transfer pasta/cheese mixture into bottom of prepared dish.
  • Brown ground beef with garlic and onion in medium skillet. Drain grease and return to pan.
  • Add pepper, pasta sauce, sugar and Italian seasoning. Stir well and spread evenly over pasta/cheese mixture.
  • Sprinkle remaining 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, until top cheese is browned and spaghetti is bubbly.
