10ouncesmedium shell pasta
1poundlean ground beef
1mediumonion, chopped
1bellpepper, chopped
1tablespoonminced garlic
1teaspoondried Italian seasoning
¼teaspooncrushed red pepper
114 ozjar pizza sauce
114.5 ozcan diced tomatoes, undrained
16.5 ozcan sliced mushrooms, drained
13.8 ozcan sliced black olives, drained
6ouncessliced pepperoni
8ouncesshredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat and Spray
Preheat oven to 350oF.
Spray 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Preparation
Cook pasta in large pot according to package directions.
Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion and bell pepper until beef is no longer pink (about 10 mins).
Drain any excess grease.
Add garlic, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, pizza sauce, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and pepperoni.
Heat until sauce begins to simmer.
Combine the cooked pasta and sauce mixture; toss to blend thoroughly.
Combine and Bake
Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.
Top with shredded cheese.
Bake 25-30 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted thoroughly. Serve immediately.
Notes
Cooking for a small family? Make this according to the recipe, but bake half in an 8x8 baking dish and arrange the remaining ingredients in another 8x8 baking dish and freezer for later.To freeze, complete all steps except for baking. Wrap casserole dish in foil and seal in a 2-gallon freezer bag. To bake, thaw completely in the refrigerator and then bake according to recipe.
