4whole wheat waffles
4slices deli Swiss cheeseor 1/2 cups shredded
4ouncethin-sliced deli ham
4ouncethin-sliced deli turkey breast
3tablespoonraspberry jam
1large egg
2tablespoonwhole milk
1tablespoonunsalted butter, melted
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
Build the sandwiches by topping two waffles with cheese slices, sliced ham, sliced turkey, and remaining cheese slices. Evenly spread jam on the other two waffles and place on top to compete the sandwich.
Whisk the egg and milk in a shallow bowl or pie plate.
Bring a large frying pan to medium heat. Melt butter in heated pan.
Dredge both the top and bottom of one sandwich in the egg batter, then place it in the frying pan. Firmly press down with a large spatula and cook until the sandwich is browned, about 2 minutes. Flip the sandwich and cook the other side until browned and the cheese is melted, about another 2 minutes.
Repeat the process with the other sandwich.
Dust sandwiches lightly with powdered sugar, cut sandwiches in half, and serve immediately.
