Ingredients
2tablespoonsolive oil
1poundground mild Italian pork sausage
1tablespoonminced garlic
1poundbow tie pasta
4cupschicken broth
1teaspoondried oregano
1teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonground black pepper
4cupssmall broccoli florets
½cupjulienned sun-dried tomatoes, drained of oil
1/3cupheavy cream
½cupgrated parmesan cheese, plus additional for serving
2tablespoonslemon juice
Instructions
Assembling the One Pot Bow Tie Pasta
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks, about 6 minutes. With a slotted spoon, remove the sausage to a plate and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium, add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add the pasta, broth, 1 cup water, oregano, salt and pepper and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Stir in the broccoli. Cover the pot and let cook until the pasta and broccoli are just tender, about 5 minutes, stirring halfway.
Uncover the pot. Add the sun-dried tomatoes, heavy cream and reserved sausage. Cook until heated through, about 1 minute.
