- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups whole-wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 package (10 oz) dark chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 °F
In a large bowl, mix sugars and butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes.
Add vanilla and egg; mix well.
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
Gently stir in chocolate chips. Chill dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown – centers will be soft. Cool slightly and then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
