- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 whole milk , lukewarm
- 1 large egg
- 5 tbsp unsalted butter ,melted
Preheat waffle iron while making waffle batter.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and butter.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. The batter will be a bit lumpy.
Cook the waffles as directed in the instructions for your waffle iron.
Serve warm with the topping of choice.
