This Easter Bunny Cake is easy to make with one cake mix made into two round cakes. Just cut the ears and bow tie out of one cake, using the Easter Bunny Cake template provided. The other cake is the head. Use frosting or candies to decorate your Easter Bunny Cake.

Items List:

1 cake mix + ingredients to make cake (or, try this carrot cake recipe)

Frosting, either store-bought or make your own

Food coloring for frosting

Candies or sprinkles for decorating

Instructions:

  1. Bake the cake mix into two round cakes, using the instructions on the box. Let cool completely.
  2. Print the Easter Bunny Cake template and cut out the ears and bow tie.
  3. Lay the template over one of the cakes and use a serrated knife to cut out the ears.
  4. Place the uncut cake near the center of a large tray. Place the bow tie under the head and the ears above the head to make a bunny.
  5. Using white frosting, put a thin layer (crumb coat) over the entire cake, ears, head and bow tie.

Grandma's Decorator Icing

Combine with mixer 3 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar, ½ cup shortening, 4-5 tablespoons cold water, ½ teaspoon lemon extract, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract and ⅛ teaspoon sea salt.
