Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 3 shallow bowls

Ingredients

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup Italian-seasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved horizontally
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce, warmed
  • 8 ounces sliced fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 12 ounces spaghetti noodles, cooked and drained

Instructions

Making the Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan

  • Stir together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in one shallow bowl. Beat the eggs in a second shallow bowl. In a third shallow bowl, stir together the panko, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  • Working with one piece of chicken at a time, dredge it in the flour, dip in the egg, then coat in the panko mixture, pressing as needed. Repeat until all the chicken pieces are breaded. Spray the breaded chicken with nonstick cooking spray on all sides.
  • Place the chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving ½-inch space between them. Air fry at 375° F for 6 minutes. Then flip and continue to cook for 6 minutes longer.
  • Open the air fryer basket, spoon about 2 tablespoons of marinara onto each piece of chicken, then top with 2 slices fresh Mozzarella. Return to the air fryer and cook until cheese is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil and serve over spaghetti with marinara.
  • Cook chicken in batches, as necessary.
