Cake Pops

Cake Pops are a fun treat for any occasion! Starting with a cake mix, they’re super easy and fun to customize for holidays, weddings, birthdays, etc.!

Cook Time 25 minutes
Servings 48 cake pops

Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor) + ingredients called for on box (likely eggs, oil and water)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
  • 16 ounces white almond bark
  • 48 cake pop sticks
  • Sprinkles and/or colored chocolate, optional

Instructions

  • Bake a 9x13 cake according to box mix instructions.
  • Let the cake cool for 5 minutes.
  • Dump the warm cake into a stand mixer; add the frosting.
  • Mix until it’s formed a “dough.”
  • Scoop into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Melt about 2 ounces of almond bark in a small dish.
  • Dip a cake pop stick about ½ inch into the melted bark, and then press it about 2/3 into a cake ball.
  • Repeat until each cake ball has a stick attached.
  • Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes to give the cake pops a chance to set up.
  • Melt the remaining almond bark.
  • Dip the cake pops one at a time until all are coated.
  • Top with sprinkles or drizzle with chocolate.
  • Let cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Recommended cake mix flavors: Chocolate, Red Velvet, White, Yellow, Funfetti
  • Customize with colored sprinkles, colored chocolate drizzle and more!
  • Try mixing in mini chocolate chips with the cake mix for an extra bit of chocolate!
