Hearty Meatloaf

This hearty meatloaf has great flavor and texture and is topped with a delicious sweet and tangy tomato sauce! Try this classic as your next weeknight dinner.

  • Baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray
  • Large bowl
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 saltine crackers, crushed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Instructions

For the Meatloaf:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the beef, crackers, egg, milk, onion, salt and black pepper.
  • When combined, form a loaf on the prepared baking sheet (approximately 9 inches x 5 inches). Bake for 30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and brown sugar; then spread it over the meatloaf.
  • Bake an additional 15-25 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F.
