Ingredients
2cupsall-purpose flour
1tablespoongranulated sugar
4teaspoonsbaking powder
½teaspoonsalt
½cupunsalted butter
1largeegg
⅔cupwhole milk
Instructions
Assembling the Biscuits
Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a small bowl, combine egg and milk. Add to flour mixture and stir.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently about 20 times.
Roll out to ¾-inch thickness and cut biscuits with a 2-inch biscuit cutter, making 10-11 biscuits.
Place on prepared baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
