Equipment
Shallow dish or bowl
Medium-sized skillet
Ingredients
4sliceswhite sandwich bread (day old)
1tablespoonbutter
1egg
1tablespoonmilk
16marshmallows, halved horizontally
Nutella
Instructions
Prepping French Toast
Combine egg and milk in a shallow dish large enough to lay the bread in.
Generously spread Nutella on all 4 slices of bread.
Cut marshmallows horizontally into halves.
Place marshmallows on 2 of the pieces of bread, with the sticky side of the marshmallows (the cut side) facing up.
Cooking French Toast
Heat butter in skillet over medium-high heat.
Take the bread with the marshmallows on them and quickly dip the bottom side of the bread (the side without the Nutella and marshmallows on it) into the egg mixture, then place into the skillet.
Dip the remaining two slices of bread into the egg mixture (the side without Nutella on it) and place on top of the marshmallow topped bread in the skillet, to form a sandwich. (The side with the Nutella on it should be placed onto the marshmallows and the side dipped into the egg mixture should face up so when flipped, it will be cooked.)
When the bottom is golden brown (about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes), flip and cook the other side until golden brown (about 2 minutes).
Don't worry if the marshmallows aren't oozing out the side yet; they will continue to melt from the heat in the sandwich.
Serve immediately, topped with extra marshmallows and chocolate sauce or any other optional toppings, if desired.
