Ingredient List
For the cake:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix + ingredients listed on box for preparation
  • Orange food coloring
For the Pudding:
  • 2 (3.4 ounce) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold whole milk (or substitute 2%)
  • Yellow food coloring
Assembling the trifles:
  • 1 (8 ounce) tub whipped topping
  • Candy corn, for garnish
Instructions
For the Candy Corn Trifles
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 13 x 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, prepare the yellow cake mix as instructed on the box.  Add several drops of orange food coloring until the mix is a vibrant orange.

  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan, and bake according to box instructions for a 13×9-inch cake.

  • Remove from oven and let cool completely.

  • While the cake is cooling, prepare the pudding. In a large bowl, add the cold milk and the two packages of instant pudding; whisk until well-combined. Add several drops of yellow food coloring; whisk to combine. Place in refrigerator until ready to put together trifles.

  • When the cake is cool, remove from the pan and cut into 1” cubes.

To assemble trifles
  • Spoon pudding into the bottom of the cup, then add several orange cake cubes and top with a big dollop of whipped topping. Add a few pieces of candy corn on top and serve!
