- 1 ⅔ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- confectioners sugar (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13×9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix together sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, flour and chocolate chips.
In another large mixing bowl, stir together melted butter, eggs, water and vanilla extract.
Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 20 to 24 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out only slightly sticky.
Cool completely in pan on a wire cooling rack. Dust with confectioner’s sugar, if desired.
