Easy Italian Panini

Take your ham sandwich to the next level with these super simple Italian panini sandwiches. They are quick and easy to make and full of flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Panini maker

Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 ounces black forest ham, thinly sliced
  • 2 ounces turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 ounce hard salami, sliced
  • 2 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Italian dressing
  • 2 large lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Dill pickle slices or pickled banana pepper slices

Instructions

  • Heat panini maker.
  • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place bread, mayonnaise side down, on panini maker and layer ham, turkey breast, salami, and cheese. Place top bread over filling, mayonnaise side up.
  • Lower lid of panini maker and press for about 2-3 minutes, until desired crispness. Remove from press.
  • Open sandwich and dress with Italian dressing, lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, and pickle slices.
  • Replace top of sandwich and serve immediately.

Notes

No panini maker? No problem! Grill the sandwich in a skillet, laying another heavy skillet on top of the sandwich to press it together. Or try a bacon press if you have one of those.
