Ingredient List
For the Gemelli Pasta Casserole:
  • One pound Gemelli noodles
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • One 24 ounce jar Marinara sauce
  • 2 ½ cups water
  • One 15 ounce jar Alfredo sauce
  • 20 frozen Italian meatballs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish, optional
Instructions
Making the Gemelli Pasta Casserole
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a large casserole dish with cooking spray.

  • Add the dry noodles and olive oil to the casserole dish and stir until the noodles are coated.

  • Add the Marinara sauce, water and Alfredo sauce; stir well.

  • Add the meatballs and stir. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.

  • Bake for 30 minutes; remove the foil and stir.

  • Bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the pasta is tender; stir again.

  • Sprinkle the casserole with Parmesan cheese and then the Mozzarella.

  • Bake an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

  • Top with fresh basil, if desired, and serve warm.

  • This pasta dish is made all in one baking dish, making for super easy clean-up!  With a creamy marinara, noodles, meatballs and cheese, it’s a full meal in itself!

    The pasta shape gemelli appears to be made of two strands of pasta that are twisted together, when in fact, it is just one. These small pasta shapes are wonderful for a wide variety of recipes, as their shape allows for sauces to attach nicely to the pasta increasing flavor in each bite.
