Pepperoni Pizza Panini
A perfectly tasty lunch, these pepperoni pizza panini sandwiches, made with hearty Italian bread, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella slices, are sure to be a favorite for adults and kids alike!

- Panini maker
Ingredients
- 4 thick slices Italian bread
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces pepperoni slices
- Fresh basil leaves
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat panini maker.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over each slice of bread.
- Layer the bottom slices of bread with mozzarella slices, pepperoni slices, and fresh basil leaves. Finish with top slices of bread.
- Spray the outsides of the sandwich with olive oil spray.
- Place sandwich on the preheated press. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, allow to cool for 1 minute. Slice and serve with additional pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
No panini maker? No problem! Grill the sandwich in a skillet, laying another heavy skillet on top of the sandwich to press it together. Or try a bacon press if you have one of those.
