Philly Cheesesteak Pasta

Ingredients
- 8 ounces cavatappi pasta
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces (about 8 slices) provolone cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta to al dente; drain and set aside.
- In large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat for about 5 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Add onions and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 7 minutes.
- Stir in cream cheese, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Stir and simmer for about 2 minutes, until cheese is incorporated.
- Gently stir in cooked pasta.
- Layer cheese slices over the top. Cover and heat for about 2-3 minutes, until cheese is melted.
- Stir cheese into pasta casserole and serve.
Notes
You can substitute shredded provolone from an 8-ounce block, if your local store has it available.
