- 10-inch cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet
Ingredients
- 1½ cups cavatappi pasta, cooked and drained
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup 2% milk
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 8 oz shredded pepperjack cheese
- 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
- 1 medium jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, heat butter over medium heat on stovetop. Stir in flour until blended. Cook and stir about 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in cream, milk, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in cheese until melted.
- Add bacon, jalapeño, and cooked pasta. Cook and stir until heated through. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over top.
- Broil 3-4 inches from heat until top is browned, about 30 seconds. Enjoy!
