  • Large mixing bowl
  • Medium mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 whole milk , lukewarm
  • 1 large egg
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter ,melted

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle iron while making waffle batter.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and butter.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. The batter will be a bit lumpy.
  • Cook the waffles as directed in the instructions for your waffle iron.
  • Serve warm with the topping of choice.
