Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard
- 1 tablespoons hot honey (adjust based on your preferred spice)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon table salt
- 8 thick slices Hawaiian bread
- 16 ounces sliced honey ham
- 12 ounces Monterrey Jack cheese, sliced
- 8 thin pineapple slices, grilled or fresh
- 2-4 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat panini maker.
- Make aioli by combing mayonnaise, honey mustard, hot honey, minced garlic, lemon juice and salt in a small bowl.
- Spread aioli evenly over each slice of bread.
- Layer the bottom slices of bread evenly with Monterey jack cheese slices, pineapple slices and ham. Finish with top slices of bread.
- Butter each outer side of bread.
- Place sandwich on the preheated Panini press. Grill for 3-4 minutes, until the bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, allow to cool for 1 minute. Slice and serve with additional aioli for dipping, if desired.
Notes
No panini maker? No problem! Grill the sandwich in a skillet, laying another heavy skillet on top of the sandwich to press it together.

You can pre-grill the pineapple slices before you put them in the panini. This really brings out their sweetness.
