- 12 slices bread
- 6 tablespoons hazelnut spread
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Maple syrup for serving, optional
-
On a cutting board, gently flatten a slice of bread with a rolling pin; trim the crust off the bread.
-
Spread about ½ tablespoon hazelnut spread across the bread.
-
Gently roll it up.
-
Repeat with remaining slices of bread. (Note: Make each roll up one-at-a-time so the bread will not dry out and start to crumble).
-
Preheat a nonstick pan over medium heat.
-
In a medium shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon.
-
Carefully dip each bread roll in the egg mixture, coating all sides.
-
Place roll (seam side down) in the pan.
-
Let each side brown, rolling ¼-turn until all sides are brown.
-
Remove to a serving dish.
-
Drizzle with or dip in maple syrup, if desired.
