Ingredient List
To Cook the One Pot Bow Tie Pasta:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground mild Italian pork sausage
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound bow tie pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups small broccoli florets
  • ½ cup julienned sun-dried tomatoes, drained of oil
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, plus additional for serving
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Optional for the One Pot Bow Tie Pasta:
  • Red pepper flakes, for serving
Instructions
Assembling the One Pot Bow Tie Pasta
  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks, about 6 minutes. With a slotted spoon, remove the sausage to a plate and set aside.

  • Reduce the heat to medium, add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  • Add the pasta, broth, 1 cup water, oregano, salt and pepper and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  • Stir in the broccoli. Cover the pot and let cook until the pasta and broccoli are just tender, about 5 minutes, stirring halfway.

  • Uncover the pot. Add the sun-dried tomatoes, heavy cream and reserved sausage. Cook until heated through, about 1 minute.
