- 1/3 cup olive oil
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more to taste
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Grated parmesan cheese and thinly sliced green onion, for garnish

In a gallon-size storage bag, combine olive oil, parmesan, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce and red pepper flakes. Add shrimp, seal bag, and shake to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes to overnight.

In a large pot of water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well.

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add shrimp and sauce mixture and cook until pink, about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in pasta and gently toss to combine; seasoning with salt and pepper.

Serve immediately, garnished with parmesan cheese and green onions, if desired.
