- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 – 12 ounce can wheat beer
- 5 bratwurst links
- Brat or hot dog buns

Place a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the butter and once melted, sauté the onions until they begin to caramelize.

Pour the beer into the skillet and then add the brats.

Bring to a boil and then simmer until the internal temperature of the brats reaches 160°F, about 10-14 minutes.

Sear on a hot grill (or an empty skillet), if desired.

Serve on buns.
