Salt Dough Handprint Ornaments
Items List:
For the dough:
- 1 cup salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
To hang the DIY Ornaments:
- Ribbon or string
Instructions:
Make your DIY Ornaments:
- Combine salt and flour; add water a little at a time. Mix.
- Knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Roll out dough to ½-inch thickness. Cut into circles or other shapes.
- Make your handprint/footprint. Be sure to wash your hands and feet when you’re done! Flour is a raw ingredient. Learn more about Consumer Food Safety and handling raw flour.
- Poke a hole in the top for the ribbon. Don’t forget this step, because you won’t be able to do it after it bakes!
- Bake at 200°F for 3 or more hours until dried all the way through.
- Let cool for a few hours before painting.
- Put the ribbon through the hole in the top to make an ornament.
VOILA! A cute addition to your holiday ornament collection!
