Ingredient List
For the Sliders:
  • Sweet Hawaiian dinner rolls (12-count) (Or, try making your own Sweet Hawaiian Pan Rolls)
  • 8 slices ham or turkey
  • 8 slices smoked Gouda cheese
For the Topping:
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted
  • 1 large egg, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Finish Them Off:
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • 3 ounces cranberry sauce (optional)
Instructions
Assemble
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray very lightly with cooking spray.

  • Remove rolls from package without separating them and slice in half horizontally with a serrated knife (making one giant rectangular hamburger bun). Place bottom portion of rolls in the bottom of the pan.

  • Layer ham or turkey slices and cheese evenly over rolls. Then place the top portion of the rolls on top of cheese.

  • Whisk together melted butter, egg and Dijon mustard until well combined and pour over tops of rolls, coating each one. Cover rolls with tented foil (don’t let the foil touch the tops of the rolls) and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for 10 more minutes.

  • Remove from oven and let rest 15 minutes. Remove rolls from pan and slice into single servings. When ready to serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar (using a sifter) and serve immediately with cranberry sauce.

  • Monte Cristo Sliders served on a plate.
